I have performed in several genres. I started performing in Community orchestras, Santa Monica Symphony and the Burbank Symphony. I have worked as a studio musician several major record companies in the area of flute performance, orchestrating and arranging music for various recording artist. My teaching experience in the Los Angeles Unified School District spans 16 years in instrumental music. I started teaching in 2012, I took some time off after school and traveled to Shanghai-China. There I taught at Rubato Music, a private music studio. I gave lessons to children and adults, had my first experience introducing the instrument to novice students. I took notes from colleague and learned from more experienced teachers on ways to better explain/demonstrate lesson material. Once the student has progressed to have a grasp of the fundamentals, I will begin to introduce solo repertoire appropriate for their first recital performance. For adults, I try to find out what the student is interested in, and guide my instruction accordingly to keep the lessons engaging and fun, no matter their ability level.
