I started playing in the 4th grade. I played in RB bands in high school and enrolled at Berklee College of Music where I have a Bachelor Degree in Composition. I also studied privately with Charles Banacos (increible piano and jazz teacher), Jerry Bergonzi, Joe Viola, Joe Allard ( whose Saxophone methods I teach, who was the teacher of every major saxophone player in his day including Coltrane, Wayne Shorter, Michael Brecker, and countless others ) , learned circle breathing from Rahsaan Roland Kirk, recorded 2 albums at Grammavision with Al Macdowell (Bass player for 40 years with Ornette Coleman). recodered and learned as much as I could grasp from Don Cherry and Ornette. Beginning students are introduced to the fundamentals of music and flute technique through pairing theoretical exercises with practical, tangible music-making. This sets up a habit from day one that all of the concepts that we learn have a real-life purpose. Performing all over the world has been one of the greater experiences of my life as a musician, and I've had the opportunity to perform at renowned venues such as Salle Cortot in Paris, France and Orchestra Hall in Detroit, Michigan. An advocate of new music, I have performed at the Bowling Green State University (BGSU) New Music Festival, the Society for Composers International (SCI) and the Society for Electroacoustic Music in the United States (SEAMUS) Conferences, where my performance won a recording spot on the 2018 Music From SEAMUS, vol. 27 CD now available for purchase on iTunes and NAXOS. I began teaching as a music education major in college. I took a course titled The Art of Instrumental Techniques, in which I learned about how to lead instrumental rehearsals for large ensembles and individual lessons. I taught two flute students through this course, and that provided me with a solid assessment method that I use today. Later on, I student taught at an elementary school district. There, I taught countless instrumental lessons of all instrument families to small groups of fourth, fifth, and sixth graders. Read More

The New York-based musician is a recent recipient of a 2016 New Music USA Impact Award and a 2015 New Music USA Project Grant. ​Over the past year, Gina has performed in collaboration with artists stemming from the New York Downtown music scene incorporating classical and contemporary music, free improvisation, and electronics.
