My favorite thing about teaching is seeing the light in my students eyes in those "aha" moments when simple suggestions open up new possibilities of technique and musical expression.  I offer both Suzuki and traditional style lessons. My teaching style is focused on playing as much as possible and encouraging good practice habits. The most important thing I can do as a teacher is teach my students good practice habits! This includes showing students not only WHAT to practice, but HOW to practice it. By spending as much time as possible in the lesson playing together, I have found that my students have more fun playing in the lesson, learn more, and in turn practice more during the week! It's fun to watch the student play the music and songs that they like and especially the songs that they always wanted to play after working on the more difficult pieces. Dan attended the Claude Watson Arts Program at Earl Haig Secondary School and participated in the Humber College Community Music School Program. Daniel holds a Bachelor of Music degree in Jazz Performance from the University of Toronto where he studied with Alex Dean Tim Ries, as well as a Master of Music degree from the Manhattan School of Music where he studied with Dave Liebman Jim McNeely.
