I usually start with the Rubank Elementary Method book. There are four books in the series and they are very comprehensive. Once the student progresses to the Intermediate book, I also add Selected Duets Volume 1. I have found that playing duets strengthens listening skills and intonation, plus they are fun! Due to completing my education, I had to temporarily cease private teaching and have recently begun again with the pandemic becoming more under control. While teaching private lessons to students across Kentucky I also was a music theory tutor for my peers at Morehead.
