I will teach students all the correct fingerings and the alternate fingerings. I will teach students how to read, write, and sight read sheet music. We will have an open conversation about specific aspects of the flute and music that each student would like to improve as well as identifying their strengths. I use a variety of teaching methods, based on my own experience as a performer that I gained throughout long years of international education. I use the Rubank method of books as a traditonal conservatory approach to early progression. I find their systematic flow efficient and effective to consistent improvement. We would then move to fulfilling repertoire that would qualify the student for collegiate study and competitive performance.
