Blythe recently relocated to Maryland, but she has also taught in New York, New Jersey, and Tennessee, as well as internationally, in Egypt and Costa Rica. She has taught privately, worked in public schools at the secondary and elementary level, taught in community music schools and arts camps, and has worked with various organizations that provide free music education to students in need. Students can expect to work from a variety of method books to study instrumental techniques, and music theory. For beginning students I prefer Hal Leonard's Essential Elements, but also work with any method book a student uses in their band class. Students will also work from the Peters/Yoder Master Theory Series.
