Whether they think that they've done really poorly or extremely well, I encourage them to listen to themselves critically and prepare to share genuine feedback. I teach my students to keep a regular practice routine to keep them progressing smoothly and actively engaged. I like to motivate my students with little rewards like stickers and pencils to keep them encouraged and motivated too. I get to know my students and their musical interests to try to include music they really like to make it fun for them.
