I have been teaching for more than 25 years and I have instructed students of many different ages and ability levels. My experience with music is now at 30+ years. I have worked as a private music tutor and have played with many local bands/musicians during that time. I've learned through experience that being too strict can contribute to a student loosing interest in practicing, so my teaching style is in the sweet spot. I push my students to always improve but I still remain patient and adaptable to different student situations. I'm always supportive and excited for my students as they grow and find their own performances and build a strong repertoire. After completing both my Bachelor's and Master's degrees at that school, I continued with my doctoral studies at Cornell University. There, I continued to teach music theory and aural skills classes, and taught beginner music students the fundamentals of notation. After my graduation in 2015, I went on to become Assistant Professor of Music at the Conservatory of Ipek University, in Ankara, Turkey.
