First I like to get a snap shot of the student's goals and sources of inspiration, once I figure that out I can tailor my instruction around their wants and needs. I see myself as an accountability partner with my students and so I help my students set goals for their progress, celebrate their successes, and evaluate the shortfalls. I encourage loved ones to be a supportive and active part of the process as that encouragement can fuel a student's desire to grow. Read More

For Piano I teach from the Faber Faber series. I used Primer and level 1 one for children and a level 1 version for late teens and adults. For Guitar/Bass I use Hal Leonard Guitar Method Series. For all my students I determine what they are interested in learning and we focus on that music while still practicing the fundamentals. Read More

I have about two years of teaching experience, all of which has been done out of the recording studio I worked out of. I've taught students of all ages, ranging from seven to seventy-two! My teaching is less about learning to mimic songs and it's more about learning how the guitar/bass work from a music theory perspective. I like to call my take on theory "practical theory," meaning that I really focus on teaching all of the basic modes and how they work together so that my students can start improvising and writing - the two musical activities that I find to be the most mentally stimulating and rewarding. My approach varies depending on the student's skill level and chosen instrument, but for beginners I always try to get them familiarized with their instrument: teaching them the basics of reading music and how to navigate the different keys (or strings, etc.). From there I start teaching various musical concepts, the rudiments of music theory, and begin introducing them to different styles of music. When the student is advanced enough, I start having them run through my own custom designed technique and skill drills, and have them start selecting music that they would like to perform on their own. I began teaching in the washington DC metropolitan area for 3 years before moving to New York City. during my time teaching i realised thatI loved teaching people of all ages and skill levels how to play and love music. My experience teaching has showed me that students want to learn music that they are passionate about, so i take my time to develop a plan for students to follow in order to slowly and surely reach their goals. For beginners, I use Alfred's books. They are very easy to understand. Alfred's Book Course are the most valuable books I have ever seen. I use Alfred's: lesson book, theory book, technique book, notespeller booke, and recital book. I usually make sure to include recital book as we are going to start our first recital this year. I also make sure that we alternate between lesson and technique book every lesson. Read More

Did you have a teacher that inspired you to go into music? How did they inspire you?
The person who made me interested in music was igor who was a professor at university. It was not only guitar but also music theory, and the map was very good. The performance was also great, and the performances with all of the students made me amazed by the various state laws. Most impressive is the fact that I have a polio disorder and that there is a limit to the performance, and he gave me courage, saying that one of the world's greatest guitar hitters has only two fingers.

What musical accomplishments are you most proud of?
I am proud of my career at a talent show when I was in college. At the time of the talent show, I was an All A student who was concentrating on studying, and my friend invited me to go to the competition. I did not expect to be in the class because of the ability of the applicants at the event. I was waiting for songs and performances in my order, and I got the honor of being ranked # 1. After that, I was invited by many school events and was happier with playing.

Why did you choose your primary instrument?
The reason I chose the guitar as my guitar is because of the various playing methods and the charm of the guitar. The guitar can be used not only as a simple string but also as a different semester by using the body or head of the guitar. It was not. It was also very attractive to me that I could easily carry around with various sounds.

When will I start to see results?
The guitar has many difficulties in the lesson than other instruments, but it is also the instrument that can experience the perfection in the quickest by nature. It is also possible to quickly distinguish between those who can learn as well as those who are not. When you finish your first lesson, you can anticipate the possibility.

What advice do you have about practicing effectively?
1. participate lesson regularly 2. practice at home 15 minute every day from Monday to Friday. 3. relax your body and mind 4. step by step 5. don't give up 6. imagine your future 7. don't compare 8. follow the schedule 9. take time to master 10. don't press hard string

How do I know if my child is ready to start lessons?
Just because your child has special interest in music does not mean you are ready to take lessons. Practice is completely different from what you like. It is natural to like, but concentration is important because lessons must be accompanied by their own efforts. My long experience shows that it is not desirable to start too early. If you lose concentration, your child may be motivated to dislike the instrument. The most desirable time to start is to check and get advice from a competent teacher. It is best when the teacher thinks that he can lead
