I have taught in a variety of settings including children through teens and adults, and children with disabilities, both online and in person, one-on-one and in groups. I started in 2014. I have found that the best method includes positive motivation, which includes both encouragement for what the student is doing successfully, and also pushing the student in areas where they may feel hesitant. If the student enjoys the lesson and feels positive, they'll be less hesitant and excel! Read More

After college I played professionally in Nashville. Later I spent 3 years traveling full-time through out the United States playing trumpet in several different music groups. Following that I moved back to Nashville and played as a free-lance musician, including as a recording studio musician and contractor. Afterwards, I became a staff musician for Liberty Broadcasting Network. A large Christian Television Network. After 5 years I started my own concert ministry. I traveled again, this time on mostly weekends for the next ten years. Read More

I start my lessons with asking the student to give me their top 10 favorites songs that they would like to learn and based on their level I will select one song to start. I start with the essential elements of theory and basic chords. Once the student has progressed I will beging to introduce different styles of music to find out what the student is interested in, and build a lesson's plan designed specifically fot the student and keeping the motivation and fun classes regardless of their ability level. In addition, I play & teach old time fiddle tunes like Arkansas Traveler, Soldier's Joy, & Ragtime Annie, and Bluegrass songs/instrumentals. I also teach a variety of just nice, popular songs like Auld Land Syne. America the Beautiful, Jingle Bells, & You Are My Sunshine. All of this includes keys, chords, scales, and theory. One IMPORTANT & UNIQUE feature of my lessons is my 4 color CHARTS which ever student can have. They are not necessary for the learning process, but they make it easy to relearn song/tunes much later if the musician has forgotten them. Read More

After obtaining my Bachelors in Music from USF in 2013, I taught masterclasses in several middle, elementary, and high schools. I was briefly the music teacher at Westshore Elementary School before transitioning back into private lessons. I pivoted my career to food service management for five years from 2, learning valuable customer service and management skills. In 2018, I began teaching private lessons again at Westchase Music School. Read More

My experience is based on my dedication to music and how I have given most of my life to it. When I was a child I didn't play sports but rather I played guitar for hours a day. While going through middle school and high school I played six hours a day because I love to play so much. I know how to play bass drums and piano as well. Read More
