Lessons are structured around songs that they like and what makes those songs unique. I like to teach some fundamentals about guitar, then relate it back to the song. For beginners, I usually start with the fundamentals of the guitars and it's anatomy. I split my lessons with theory and scales/studies, and then we switch to the students desired repertoire. I like to also add duets and songs or pieces in which me and the student play together, to strengthen the confidence to play with other players. My lessons have a specific flow. Instead of focusing the whole lesson only on a book, I take my time to jump around and make sure the lesson isn't repetitive and boring. We will switch the focus from to warm-ups, to the book, to scales, to chord, etc. I will also frequently express my gratitude and appreciate to you instead of complaining with frustration.
