I enjoy guiding students to their specific goals and helping them gain understanding of their instrument and also of their own innate musicality. I tailor all lessons to meet both of these areas and find that it not only helps students motivate but also learn to engage their instrument in a way that is both fun and rewarding for themselves. I encourage students to have an open mind especially in regards to genre and what can be gained by broadening our musical palette as they build their practice and fundamental skills. Read More

My teaching experience dates back to my time in high school, as I taught group guitar lessons with the Franklin Community Education and Recreation Department as well as private guitar lessons from 2011 to 2013. In both of those environments, I typically taught children ages 6 to 12, most of whom were beginners on their instrument. I found these lessons inspiring and enlivening; witnessing the sense of curiosity and wonder my students had as they began to make their first sounds made me excited to teach and to grow with them each week. I'm positive, goal focused, and hugely passionate about music! I want my students to love music as much as I do! I grew up taking lessons from teachers who treated it too much like a job. I think that'll rub off on how a student views music. Setting realistic goals with tons of encouragement will help accelerate learning. I see the most success when my students hit their first milestone and they finally realize all their hard work pays off and they can make music! Read More

My undergraduate degree in music education and my master's in performance helped me in forming a well-rounded view of the music world. I have been teaching 1-on-1 lessons for around 5 years in my own private studio, music stores, and different area schools. It is one of my favorite things to do and I take pride in the development of young musicians as well as those trying to find music later in their lives. Read More

Im all about helping each student grow at their own pace. Everyone learns differently, so I make sure to customize practice routines and adjust how much info I throw at you depending on your style and focus. To keep things on track, I create a detailed profile for each student, highlighting areas of strength and areas we can level up. Its a great way for both of us to see progress and stay focused on what matters. Read More
