My personal training in voice was a very one-size-fits-all approach--if I couldn't do something in a certain way that my instructors wanted, I would often disappoint them, or continue to run up against a brick wall in my progress. I have also excelled as both a teacher and a tutor. In 2011, I began my own business teaching piano, strings, composition/music theory and electronic music production. Additionally, I have set up sound and instrumentation for orchestras and bands including Trey Anastasio of Phish and The National Chorale at Lincoln Center and has performed at Carnegie Hall. I also do string-instrument repair and maintenance. My school couldn't afford to fund faculty to lead the drumline, so during my junior and senior years, I took on the role of teaching new students, some of whom had never even held a drumstick, to be performance-ready in a short amount of time. When I moved to Los Angeles for school in 2013, I began teaching drum and guitar lessons in my free time, to fellow UCLA students at first, then expanding to the greater Los Angeles community, teaching students as young as six.
