I am a very passionate guitarist and instructor who loves sharing and inspiring others with the love of music. From 2008 to 2012, I studied Classical guitar at the Russian Music Academy in El Monte. In 2017, I graduated from Cal Poly Pomona with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Music Performance. I have studied classical and jazz guitar, as well as songwriting and arranging. I try to adapt my teaching style to however I see the student (or peer) is most effective in learning. Some people are more chart based, and like the bars written out in time so they can follow it in a more technical manner. Some have a hard time reading music, so they go off of feel. Maya studied upright bass performance at Berklee College of Music, where she earned a Berklee Merit Scholarship and the Bass Department Outstanding Performer Award and Scholarship. She played with the Berklee Contemporary Symphony Orchestra, with a highlight performance of Lord of the Rings Symphony at Bostons Symphony Hall. She tours nationally with Boston-based bummer pop band Future Teens.
