I keep my lessons low pressure and laid back. This is a fun hobby for my students and I try to keep it that way! At the same time, I work with the student to set goals to keep them accountable and making progress. I don't make students perform in front of anybody else unless that is a goal of theirs to work towards. Depending on the student's level, having me playing along with them at times is also something I use to help the student feel more comfortable. Read More

I have 4 years of experience teaching private lessons. I started as a freelance instructor in my home town of Tabernacle NJ. I work at School Of Rock in Medford NJ for two summers, in 2017 and 2018. Teaching is one of my favorite things to do, I love sharing my knowledge with other people. To be able to inspire people, help them find their sound, and most of all bring a smile to their face is what I take pride in. Read More

I am a goal setter and overachiever so I like to work with the student to set goals that will not be discouraging. I believe that learning how to play an instrument/sing with others in an ensemble setting helps reinforce what we work on in the lesson. As a multi-instrumentalist, I enjoy finding songs we can eventually play together while implementing technique and structure. I’ve done everything from covers, to song writing, to singing operatic repertoire in 5 different languages. Read More

I like to break lesssons down into 3 categories; technique, reading, and repertoire. Technique includes the learning of scales and chords while developing a strong rhythmic sense. For reading studies I will be using William Levitt's Guitar Method books. The repertoire is unique to each student and will be a reflection of his/ her interests. Read More

For myself at least, music has provided me with a sense of higher purpose, as well as given me many lifelong friends along my own musical journey! My goal is to have each one of my students be able to have that same experience, in a way that is tailored to them and their needs! I feel learning is best achieved when the student has real interest in the material. Read More

Every student works at their own pace and I allow for a lot of flexibility in my lessons. However, once the student has communicated their long term goals for the guitar, realistic goals are set between each lesson. I assign projects to work on between each lessons usually a mix of technical practice, such as left hand and right hand techniques, and musical works the student is interested in. I find that students work well when they are working on things that interest them. Read More

I always ask the students what their goals are. I include the parents as well in this conversation for the younger students, as I find that some parents want their children to learn how to read beginning at a young age. Other parents may specify that their child may simply want to learn how to play their favorite songs. For adults, I go with what they'd like to learn and take if from there. Read More
