I studied jazz piano, classical, and guitar throughout high school and continued through college where I received training in theory and performance. I currently am teaching at West Coast Music Academy in Santa Clarita, as well as actively performing as a guitarist in a band throughout Los Angeles. My main focus of teaching is on the student, and on developing and expanding their existing musical interests. I develop a lesson plan and schedule that begins with the musical interests and passions of the student, their favorite bands, favorite songs and musical styles. From there I take each of their favorite pieces of music and demonstrate how the building blocks of music were used to create each, and how they can not only recreate their favorites, but start to create their own musical identity. I have also done composition and sound design for Smashing Graphics Game Studios and Haus Music Library. While there I composed and mixed music and sound effects for video games, TV shows, commercials and animated shorts on Logic Pro X, Cubase and Digital Performer. Most recently I have been doing work as the Composer Assistant to NYC film composer, Todd Griffin who has scored over 40 feature length films. I score cues, orchestrate and record music for him.
