My teaching experience begins in high school where I was appointed to be an orchestra assistant. There, I began offering before and after school private lessons with violinists and violists. Since then, I have graduated and am now attending UNF and assisting the Jacksonville Symphony Youth Orchestra. I currently have two students who participate in the youth orchestra and I adore it. We make music and have fun simultaneously, that is my job. Read More

i teach each student individually that is to say that i tailor the lessons to meet the level and desires of the student . i include teaching theory as i go along with each student. i tell each student that there is no such thing as a mistaked, there is only learning. i usually teach two songs in the first hour lesson . one in four four time and one in three four time . i also teach how to transpose any song that the student wishes to learn into the key that the student is able to sing the song in. again . nothing is hard . it is only new. I've found the best way to teach is to cater to each student's interest. While early or beginning players may require some fundamental grunt work, there is always a way to assure that it's fun too. Earlier students would need to start learning the basics: rhythm, learning to read, developing technique through scales etc. of which there are many methods. As students mature, I feel the Suzuki method for aspiring classical students is the best route (there are multiple books in this series) along with some other extensive and more challenging works. I love seeing my students apply what they’ve learned in their lesson and become passionate about their music education. I am warm and friendly yet still firm and hands on in my approach to teaching so that students are able to enjoy lessons but still know that they are coming to lessons to learn something. I support the student with structuring lessons based off of the needs of the student as well as student/parent goals. Read More

My first goal is keeping music fun. One of the easiest ways to start this is by knowing why a student wants to learn the guitar. With that, I can set realistic expectations from week to week and encourage them as they make accomplishments. I try to incorporate songs early on. There is some amount learning of chords and other fundamentals needed, but it doesn't take much to start playing. Read More

Taking music lessons is an awesome experience, and my goal is to make it as fun and accessible as possible for each student. I have high expectations, but I make sure that the goals we set are achievable and realistic for each student. We discuss those goals together, and work toward them at the right pace for the student! Everyone is different, and I want to make sure that each student gets the best learning experience for them! Read More

I am a passionate and engaged teacher who loves to see my students succeed and grow in confidence and courage! I graduated with my Bachelors in Voice from DePauw University in 2017 where I studied with Caroline Smith. I am currently pursuing my Masters in Vocal Performance at the University of North Florida with James C. Hall. I’ve had the opportunity to sing everywhere from Cape Cod with the College Light Opera Company, Wooster, Ohio with the Ohio Light Opera, and even several choir competitions in Europe! Read More
