For every one of my beginning students who wants to start playing the guitar or singing, I will alway start them off the best and most knowlegable way I know how, which would be a beginners guide. Each student learns in a different way so I tailor each lesson plan for that individual. I do have a format with teaching voice that follows tradition - we work on voice exercises and then repertoire. I use Hal Leonard, Alfred, and Mel Bay books for all instruments. Voice instruction is tailored to each student by taking their career goals, experience, and learning pace into consideration. Some things we will focus on are: vocal technique and correct breathing (the foundation), increasing vocal range, improving pitch and tone, vocal maintenance and endurance, stage performance and confidence, audition preparation, microphone technique, pre-production for studio recording and songwriting. My teaching experience dates back to my college days, as I began teaching private lessons part time. I have been consistently teaching students since 2018. Encouraging regular practice on a consistent schedule is one of the key points I like to emphasize for younger students, as it tends to help the student progress and gain a passion for the instrument. Lately I've been teaching my little brother piano playing on the side when I go over to my parent's house, he is really enthusiastic about playing for me and asks many questions while aptly listening to me. I also help out a couple of my friends that either used to play the piano or are just interested in the instrument and need a primer to get them going. I have found some terrific methods that get students playing VIOLIN well right away and building up their muscles and endurance. For the first 4 books students get to play along with CDs so their intonation is honed; they learn to "keep up with others playing" and they are encouraged to stick with it through each piece.
