I've played Broadway for Music Man, Little Mary Sunshine, Fantasticks, West Side Story in Harrisburg, Mechanicsburg Area. I believe that if a student is told what they are doing wrong constantly, they will feel like they aren't good enough for the instrument, or they will lose interest. Strong vocal development is rooted in an extensive understanding of healthy technique. Depending on the level and age of the student we will spend anywhere from a third to half of the lesson working on vocal exercises, which will aid in the student's foundation of developing a strong technical background. During the initial lesson, I determine what the student is interested in learning the best approach pace to help them achieve their goals. While I have recommend materials to varying levels of students, every lesson approach is different. With all my students, I believe keeping them engaged and excited at what they are doing is most important.
