My teaching experience began when I was first selected as the concertmaster of the Baldwin Wallace Symphony Orchestra four years ago! It was my responsibility to organize and run sectionals, where I instructed my peers in the art of refining, practicing, and mastering the challenging orchestral repertoire that we tackled on a regular basis. For beginning younger students I begin by working a very short time with parents to assure them their children are in a positive learning environment. Parents of small children are encouraged to attend each lesson with their child. The core principles of musicality, breathing, and perspective are taught. The next step is sound and movement. For three summers in a row, I attended a summer program for opera in New Mexico. At LEOI, I got to work with coaches and instructors of excellent caliber and reputation in the opera world. I have also sung at Carnegie Hall with the University of Tulsa Capella Chamber Singers in which I was the soprano section leader for the year.
