Instruments: Piano Guitar Classical Guitar
I studied music with the intention to be the teacher I wanted as a youth. I am kind, patient, and creative. I have perfected a process to where 30 minutes of conceptualization matched with strategic practice, will help you get much closer to your goal, in half the time. why should it take years to master an instrument? The traditional approaches used are good, but people desire to make gains quickly. Read More
Instruments: Piano Music
I use several methods; Royal Conservatory of Music, Alfred, and Faber to name a few. These publishers provide lesson books, theory, and pieces. The selection of books will vary because there is no "one size fits all" solution. I introduce fundamentals, then solo pieces in various styles. Often same concepts are used in different types of music. So for example, musical structure within a piece can be shown in classical and even popular music! Read More
Instruments: Piano Violin
Nothing is more rewarding than seeing one of my students develop a passion for music! Therefore, it's important that each student progresses at his or her own pace with the encouragement of the teacher to encourage their musical goals with a consistent desire to progress. No two teachers teach in the same way, just as no two students will learn in the same way. A teachers style is based on their educational philosophy. Read More

I absolutely love watching a student who has tried to understand a concept suddenly light up, smile, and say, "Oh, now I get it!" I believe that a teacher should try a variety of ways to help a student understand and "own" their musical knowledge. I set high standards for my students, starting where they are and encourgaing them to go beyond what they think is their personal best. I have students write goal and wish lists down throughout the year, setting small, reachable goals and then larger goals that may take longer to reach. Read More

I have had the privilage to teach many great students who have developed into fantastic percussionists. Nothing is more rewarding to me than to have been an influence inthat development. My approach to teaching includes more than just instruction on how to do things right, I also focus a lot of instruction on how to practice. It doesn't matter who you are, in order to learn an insrument is takes practice, and improper practice can only get disouraging. Read More
Instruments: Voice
I encourage lots of questions from my students. I will also ask them to tell me what they felt in there voice when I ask them to do something. I believe that the voice teacher is only as good as his student can understand what they are actually being asked to do. I set goals for my students, and ask that they practice every day for at least 30 minutes on various things that I may ask them to work on such as scales or a new song ect. Read More
Instruments: Saxophone Flute Clarinet
My goal in teaching is to help the student develop confidence by developing skill as a musician. Once the student realizes how to gain confidence through practice, he or she will create a healthy habit of successful learning that can transfer to any field of education. Read More
