Instruments: Piano Voice
I studied dance at the age of 6. My mom bought a piano for herself to learn to play. I would go to the piano and try to make up songs that I could dance to, which then lead me to take piano lessons for 15 years. Committment, joy, and passion are the keys to learning and growing as a music student. I enjoy teaching all styles, as well having students learn to arrange and express their own style within the piece they are learning. Read More
Instruments: Piano Violin Viola
For Beginning piano students, I often use the Piano Adventures series. For younger beginners, I tend to enjoy The Music Tree books. For intermediate students, I like the Celebration Series. For beginning violin and viola students, I use All for Strings first, then followed by I Can Read Music paired with Suzuki Book 1. As students advance in their piano or string studies, we eventually step away from method books and study staple, classic repertoire by composers such as Mozart, Beethoven, and Bach. for each lesson, I write custom lessons plans based on the student's needs and interests. Instruments: Flute Piccolo
I encourage regular practicing, setting goals, and holding students accountable for preparing materials for their lessons and/or for band at school or any other ensembles they may be involved in. I encourage my students to play beyond their lessons, such as school or outside ensembles. If I get enough students, I would love to put together a flute choir as well, as playing with other musicians helps to develop the ear for sake of tone flexibility, balance, and as well as intonation. I just recently moved to the Greater Phoenix Area. I have a very strong passion for singing and bringing music to others. I have three degrees in opera, but I have worked professionally singing everything from standard ballads to gospel songs. Performing all over the world has given me the opportunity to sing and learn things about other cultures that I would otherwise never have known about. My most recent accomplishment was singing the leading role of Hoffman in the french opera Les contes d'hoffman in Perieuguex France in the summer of 2012. Read More

I am a student at Phoenix College for Music Composition and I have been playing the drum-set for my entire life. My siblings taught me the fundamentals of listening or "building your ear" to create music as we grew up together in Athens, OH - I am now writing and performing my own work at local venues which have been a great privilege for me. I am now the music director for the largest comedy show in Phoenix! - Cam Read More
Instruments: Piano
I am classically trained piano and voice instructor with more than 30 years of international teaching and performing experience. I have a degree from the Lithuanian State Conservatory and utilize both classical European and contemporary American styles in her teaching practice. I believe that to teach is to touch a student's life forever. For many years me and my late husband were volunteers for PBS, the Orpheum Theater, and the Scottsdale Center for the Performing Arts and Arizona opera. Read More

As I first approach a new student, my first question to them is "why drums?". From that response I have a better idea of where this student is most comfortable for playing. Their genre of musical listening is a strong consideration of the styles they would enjoy learning. By finding their strong points of playing building an individual curriculum for that student gives them a better opportunity to become a player to the best of their abilities. Read More
