I am a passionate and motivated performer and teacher in the Phoenix area. I am currently the adjunct oboe instructor at Paradise Valley Community College, and perform regularly with the Symphony of the Southwest, West Valley Symphony, and Prescott Pops Symphony. I received my Bachelor’s degree in oboe performance from Eastern Illinois University and my Master’s degree in oboe performance from Northern Illinois University. I tend to be a teacher on a stricter side as that is how my music teachers were back in Europe. I find this style to be working with my students as they do accomplish their goals and win various competitions. Depending on the age and students goals (professional musician or just playing for fun) I adjust my style accordingly. Even if the student only wants to play for their own enjoyment I still find a way to make the material challenging for them to improve their skills, technique, musicianship, and thus make it worth their while. I have used several method books in the past but find them all limited or focused on styles or technique that is not what the student wants or needs to learn.
