Growing up in Memphis, I began playing the piano at age 6. After moving to bass guitar a few years later, I finally picked up my brother's acoustic guitar and never looked back. At Vanderbilt University, I studied music and English and began gigging professionally in Nashville while still finishing my degree. I've worked as a singer/songwriter, touring artist and session musician in both Nashville and New York City. I'm proud to call Memphis home again when I'm not on tour. Read More

My first experience with teaching was as a 15 year old counselor at a week long violin summer camp in Maine that my private teacher was running. It was a really fun summer of outdoor violin practice, board games, fishing, swimming, watching movies and cooking together. Since then, I have been teaching private lessons and also enjoyed 2 summers teaching at Interlochen. My students are active in the local community and we participate in most of the local opportunities such as All west, youth symphonies, and competitions. Read More

I have taught college music appreciation classes, high school and middle band as well as elementary music. My time in an elementary classroom has taught me patience as an educator and I apply that patience and meticulous attention to detail into my private studio.
