Instruments: Piano
I have been teaching in the States for about 9 years. It is a pleasure for me to hear my students progress from their first steps as timid, first-time players to confident and more musically mature young musicians. My students participate in a monthly MDML recital and an annual music test organized by the MMTA. I believe performing for others is a good way for students to grow into their roles as musicians and to acquire a sense of accomplishment. Read More
Instruments: Clarinet
My teaching and free lancing experience dates back to 1999 while attending Manhattan School of Music in New York. While teaching in New York, I enjoyed teaching privately and through community outreach programs. Throughout my education, I have had the opportunity to study the clarinet with some of the countries finest teachers and players. I am excited to share techniques and ways of practicing that can help students develop a mature sound and proficient technique on the instrument. Read More
Instruments: Piano
I am a piano teacher who came from a culture that does not really appreciate music. I lived there for 24 years, and I had not had the chance to pursue my dreams in music. Now that I am here having the freedom to work towards achieving my goals in music, I am studying, teaching music, expressing and sharing my love for it. I started teaching music officially in 2010, but before that I had given training courses and private lessons in some churches, and that was starting from 2005. Read More

I believe that in order to effectively teach, one must also do. My extensive performance background allows me to read a student to see what their goals might be and custom fit a curriculum around them. Sometimes a method book is the right way to go. Books such as the Alfred series and Hal Leonard often offer easily attainable goals for younger students. However, it is always important to listen to one's students to find out what music makes them passionate and make sure to weave that into the practice of good technique, and theory. Read More

I began teaching career my senior year of college, since then I have taught privately and collectively for the past 15 years. I have taught classical, broadway, gospel, Latin, Indian, and African forums of music in variety of ways. Private or small group lessons have always been my favorite, because more attention and passion can be put into the music. I have taught all age groups and i love assisting students in discovering their passion for music. Read More
Instruments: Voice Bass Guitar Double Bass
For beginners I like to start with the basics of how the voice works and the proper techniques to use it. We always spend time at the end singing something they want to sing, it's important to not feel pressured into music. We will build a repertoire of songs the student is connected to and work towards a set list for a showcase. My more advanced students, I enjoy pushing them in ways that don't seem to make sense but when they feel the change in their voice they understand. Read More
Instruments: Drums
I take everything in steps with students no matter what the age. My biggest approach I take to lessons is figuring out what the student wants to learn. If someone comes to me wanting to dive deeper into the styles of bands like Rush, we might not focus much time on snare solos (for example) because thats not what the student is interested in learning. I'm not saying that snare solos are not important, but I've come to realize that people will work harder at the things they're PASSIONATE about learning and not just the things they "should" learn.
