Originally from Anaheim, CA, I've been living in New York City for the past six years while completing my Bachelor and Master's degrees at The Juilliard School. I love exploring new creative ways to use the cello, and have taken influences from all sorts of musical genres, from pop to EDM to bluegrass. For beginning students who are children, I typically start with the Suzuki Method and the Sassmannshaus Early Start books. As they grasp the beginning fundamentals, I incorporate the Alfred "My First Theory Book" series. As the students advance, we begin using Martin's "I Can Read Music," Rick Mooney's "Position Pieces for Cello" and "Fun in Thumb Position." For beginners I start with Nancy Fabers books. There are colorful pictures and notes and easy steps on how to start to play and enjoy. I had a very successful year with Nancy Fabers materials. Once the children know the music alphabet, they can play any song they like. With advanced students, I start from what they know already and continue to explore all musical elements. I like to choose appropriate grade level music that the child would like, whether it is a classical or pop song. Read More

I have played all around the country including Texas, Colorado, Connecticut, Pennsylvania, Massachusetts, California, Georgia, New Jersey and many more. In 2020, I qualified as a finalist for the Northeast Euphonium Tuba Regional Conference Military Euphonium Mock Band Audition Competition. For piano, I have had 8 years of training and have won many competitions. My methods are largely dependent on each individual student - their own learning styles, goals, and interests guide the methods I use. For many of my beginning students who are children, I start with Faber's piano adventures. I use a mixture of method books, repetoire, and my own theory exercises until students can grasp solo repetoire. I also help students compose their own music, which we have fun doing!
