I teach all students the basics and guide them towards the proper way to practice between lessons, which are the building blocks to growing and improving as a musician and as a drummer. My teaching experience dates back to my high school days, as I began teaching private lessons part-time 8 years ago, teaching primarily young beginning and intermediate students. I have served as a teaching assistant for the 2016 Ervin Monroe Summer Flute Choir Workshop, where I played side-by-side with the members of the flute choir and offered advice and guidance. I have also served as the the primary flute instructor for the annual McCourts Music Fifth Grade Instrument Fittings in Berkley, Michigan for the past 5 years, where I work with fifth grade students teaching them how to play the flute. I am a graduate of The Manhattan School of Music, earning both my Bachelor and Master of music degrees. I have performed as a recitalist, in operas and as soloist with orchestra. I have performed locally and abroad, specifically the many Halls at Lincoln Center, The United States Capitol, and in the Rudulfinum Hall in Prague. I love performing and teaching. Music has always been my passion. I have an affinity for guitar in particular and love watching people achieve the satisfaction of perfecting their chosen instrument. I find it incredibly rewarding to see students practice and perfect techniques they want to be able to play. In 2003 I joined the Rock On America program at East Coast Music Mall as a student. We explore different song styles and different exercises that speak to each individual student. I also believe in regularly providing constructive criticism and encouragement for each student's accomplishments. The more you inspire your student, the more driven they become.
