Instruments: Piano Voice Music
My teaching experience all started 2 and a half years ago when I first began teaching voice and piano in my home studio, working primarily with younger students. After some time teaching at home, I began to work at music studios and had the experience to teach students of all ages and see them progress and develop their technique. My experiences in teaching one-on-one lessons have allowed me to identify a student's strengths and weaknesses, as well as their interests, likes, and dislikes, right away and help take their talents to the best of their abilities. You tell me where you want to go and I will help take you there. A core principle of my approach to music is there are plenty of wrong ways to play a piece, but there is no correct way. We will work together to develop your unique approach to both music and your instruments. No pair of hands are the same and every percussionist approaches their instruments in a different way. Instruments: Voice
Recognizing that each student is unique, i.e., their instruments, learning styles, mental and emotional make-up, etc., I need to be flexible in how I work with each student. There is no one-size-fits-all! I work to understand each student's learning style and adapt my teaching accordingly. I ask a lot of questions, asking the student to think about their own learning style, what they are experiencing, hearing, and feeling. This not only gives me cues on how to better adapt my teaching style to them, but gets them thinking about what they are doing and reinforces their learning, which in turn helps them in their own practice by starting to become their own best teacher. Centering around the most simple and effortless playing techniques, my style of teaching is designed to facilitate the fastest route to excellence and the development of the student's own personal style and musical ideas.
