I completed my Master of Music studies at the University of Wisconsin- Milwaukee and a Bachelor of Arts in voice performance from Luther College in Decorah, Iowa. As a young artist, I spend three summers performing and studying in Austria with the Franco- American Vocal Academy. I began teaching in 2000, and since then have taught saxophones, flute, clarinet, improvisation, chord theory, piano / keyboard, basic music understanding to young children in a classroom setting, and coached worship teams and group seminars to all ages. I have taught from both the FJH and Berklee series of guitar and theory books. My lessons revolve around three parts: 1- Lessons from books of the appropriate level. We choose a book that suits the student, and there are weekly assignments from the book. 2- Theory work, usually focusing on the Blues form.
