I'm a passionate and motivated instructor who loves working with students and sharing my love of music. In 2018, I graduated from University of Antioqua with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Flute Performance. Performing in Latin America and United States has been one of the greater experiences of my life as a musician, and I've had the opportunity to play as a soloist with university of Louisiana orchestra, as well as with several orchestras in Colombia acting on this performances as the principle flutist/ principal chair. I'm a passionate instructor who loves sharing my knowledge with others. I recently obtained my Bachelor of Music in Music Education from the California State University of Los Angeles. I have been training professionally as a guitarist for seven years. I have mostly performed classical guitar, but I have also been able to perform other genres while applying my classical guitar knowledge. I was encouraged to have a strong practice routine on a consistent schedule so I try and instill the same practice in both my vocal and keyboard students. Every student is different and learns in different manners, which makes teaching a challenge. This is a challenge that motivates and excites me. I make sure to put all my effort into adapting to every student. Overall, I set reasonable goals for each student that are challenging, yet attainable. I believe in providing positive reinforcement while pushing a student to be better. Ultimately, my goal is to transfer my love for cello and music to the student and will always find a way to do so. While all of my students study the same fundamental musical principles, I believe that every lesson should be as unique as every person. That's why I always create new, customized lesson plans and provide individualized materials for all of my students. In my experience, this approach is most effective at increasing the student's musical ability—and it's a lot more fun! Rather than just going cover to cover through a method book, we'll keep things interesting and fresh by playing music games (especially with younger students), composing our own music, listening to new artists, and working on pieces that are requested by the student.
