Instruments: Voice Music
My goal is to train voices to sing in a free and natural way. The method I teach can be applied to any style of singing and is designed to optimize your voice to its fullest capabilities. It gives singers the capability to perform with a smooth, strong, balanced and continuous sound, from the bottom to the top of their vocal register, typically with a range that extends far beyond where they began. Music was created to be ENJOYABLE (meaning it "brings IN JOY" to our souls) - therefore everything about it should be just that! My teaching style is much like my personality - Fun, laid back, with a good balance of buckling down when needed, joyful & a perfectionist. I will push my students gently & encourage them to learn the styles THEY want in a very professional and multi-faceted way. Having worked with thousands of kids & teenagers, I've learned that charisma is contagious & when given the proper tools & support, they can do exceedingly & abundantly more than what they (or I) could ever imagine! Teaching is my thing! Graduated from the University of Texas at Austin with my Masters Degree in Opera Performance. Since then I have taught privately and performed all over the world. I have performed at Carnegie Hall in New York, overseas in the EU and Brazil, and performed in the US premier of "Waiting for the Barbarians" here in Austin. I have enjoyed teaching students for over ten years now. Read More

I am incredibly fulfilled by witnessing growth in my students, and love the "Ah-HA!" moments. My approach is based on the student's learning patterns and interests, and tailor my lessons to each individual student. I feel that music is the ultimate form of expression, and I try to make my foundation as limitless as possible. Growth is the main goal for me and my students. My job is not to make virtuosos, but to give my students the right practice and motivational tools so they can accomplish their goals while also having fun. Read More

My approach to lessons is one that is customized to the student. I don't believe in a one size fits all method. I use the same material and books that have helped me improve as well as customizable methods for each student. These methods include: learning how to process information effectively, how to retain the information and also how to excecute that information at any moment. I also help with the psychology of music learning and performing which is often overlooked. Read More
Instruments: Piano Violin Drums
Music has been one of my passions since I was a little girl! I took up piano at age 8, violin at 13, and drums at 15. I've been known to belt out a tune here and there, too! There is nothing better than having an afternoon to lose yourself to creating and playing music. In high school, I was Concert Master of the Philharmonic Orchestra. I've had the opportunity to perform on the drums at various venues and was invited by my drum instructor to return to the studio to become an instructor myself, where I taught for three years. Instruments: Violin Viola
I start beginning students who are children with instruction in the basics of playing the instrument, helping them to play their first couple of pieces before reading music. I follow this as quickly as possible with Samuel Applebaum's String Builder. I find this particular method the simplest and quickest way to learn reading music on the instrument. I then transfer into other method books (including the Suzuki materials) to guide the student through the levels of playing. Read More
