For beginning and intermediate clarinet and saxophone students I like using the Yamaha Advantage books or the Belwin Series. I like to use these lesson books and supplement with solo and duet material. I always encourage my students to bring in material they'd like to work on, from school band music to popular tunes they are intereseted in learning. I think it is important for all aspiring musicians to collaborate with others and make sure to play along with students in our lessons. I ask my students to plan their practice time each week, as I know how busy we all are! During lessons, we review songs, techniques, theory, and other concepts that they are studying and need to improve on. I am a professional violinist and violin instructor. I have a Bachelor's degree in Music Performance from the Universidad de Chile, an Artist Diploma Program, and a Master's degree in Music Performance, both from Duquesne University. I started my career in music when I was 13, and I knew I wanted to dedicate my life to playing and teaching music. In 2019 I moved from Chile to the United States, more specifically to Pittsburgh because I wanted to grow my knowledge in music and I started a graduate program at Duquesne University. Read More
