Upon this time I studied a full year with James Lee Thorpe whom eventually played, toured recorded with Sweet F.A. They released albums with MCA Chrysalis Records. As an adult, I have taken pedagogy with the head of the pedagogy department at Olivet Nazarene University, Piano from Dr. Karen Ball, flute from Gary Schocker, and voice lessons from members of the Metropolitan Opera in New York City. Always looking to improve myself through individual study, I also get excited when I learn things from my students. I teach Wunderkeys to pre-schoolers ages 4 5. This method gives them a head-start in math as well as patterning. I start beginner piano students (ages 6 and up) with Faber's Piano Adventures. I introduce intermediate students to Alfred's Premier Piano Course as this method starts them on solo repertoire. In 2020 I graduated with a Bachelors in Mechanical Engineering and Minor in music theory. My music career spans back to 2011 where I classically trained in viola for 8 years traveling all over the world to perform in ensembles. In my gap year between my bachelor's and master's degrees, I visited a number of elementary and middle schools and worked with students there. At Manhattan School of Music I was a Teaching Artist for both the Arts-in-Education and Distance Learning Programs and have also taught at the Sitka Fine Arts Camp. I taught at Franklin College for three years and have also worked with students at a number of different universities, such as the University of Washington, Pacific Lutheran University, Seattle University, Presbyterian College, and in China at the Sichuan Conservatory of Music and Tsinghua University. I graduated college in the Spring of 2020 and then proceeded to get a temporary teaching job as a orchestra director in Pike Township for the first half of the year. This was followed by an elementary teaching position in the same township. I then took a step back to focus on my playing.
