Instruments: Piano Keyboard
I was born in New Bedford, MA to a musical family. I began piano study at age six and eventually decided to seek a degree in music, with an emphasis in piano performance. My love for the instrument is as a teacher, and it is that love for teaching that brought me to be a classroom teacher of general music for ten years. I have served as a church musician, both at the pipe organ and the piano, and I have also been a choral accompanist for college and community ensembles. Read More

As a recording artist and teacher, my main goal is to inspire others to follow their passion for music at whatever level that may be. My passion for music was cultivated by individuals who believed in my talents and drive for music. I make sure that I do the same for my students. My number one question to students is, what do you want to get out of lessons? By doing this, I am able to design an instruction plan tailored to each students needs. Read More

I work closely with my students on crafting a lesson plan that best suits their interests. I've never been a homework guy; instead, I like to inspire my students by following their desired goals. Want to learn how to play like Metallica? Let's do it. Want to write songs like Taylor Swift? I'm game. Want to play bass like Flea? That's a challenge I'm up for. I like to consider myself as not only a teacher, but also as a bandmateyour goals are also mine, and we're working together to help you achieve them. Read More
Instruments: Voice Drums
The most important aspect of music, for me, is to enjoy what you are doing. I entered the world of music as an escape from my rigorous Engineering curriculum. The last thing I want is for my students to become too stressed or frustrated with their learning. Therefore, I ensure that all students go at a comfortable pace while setting challenging, but realistic, goals for themselves. I will work with my students to set a list of goals and push them in that direction so they can experience the satisfaction that comes with such accomplishments. Read More
Instruments: Drums Mallet Percussion Orchestral Percussion
I learned very early on in my teaching experience that every student is different, and the lesson should be personalized to fit their needs. For true beginners, the basics are always established, and are frequently reminded; how to hold the drumstick, how to get the correct motion when striking the drum, and proper playing zones. Stick Control, Alfred's Beginning Drum Set Book, and The All American Drummer are three versatile books that my students will be exposed to, no matter what level of player they are. Read More

I have taught privately now for over a decade, as well as in classrooms and given masterclasses to all ages. I worked with pre-K through to the collegiate level in Philadelphia. I also work in communities, bridging gaps geographically and ideologically through musical experiences. I have taught in the United States, South Africa, and Zimbabwe. My favorite thing is to find a way to empower and encourage my students to feel strong as musicians but also as people. Read More

For a typical lesson Ill teach half basics and theory and the other half songs or anything the students interested in. I am adamant that the student's are practicing at least 30 mins a day. For guitar I strongly recommend using Hal Leonards Guitar method books even if were only working out of it for a quarter of the lesson. For piano I recommend a Hal Leonard book without question. I do pass some handouts of pieces, exercises, etc that I feel are worthy for the student. Read More
