For beginning students I like to Rubank: Elementary Method to learn fundamentals. After learning fundamentals and introduction to solo repertoire or etudes will be used next. I like to try and find out what interests my students and tailor my instruction around their needs, interests. As each step is mastered we will move on to the next step , I like to use the Rubank method books, for elementary method, intermediate methods and advanced methods along with Selected studies book by Voxman. I've recently moved to the Bryan/College Station area to work at Texas AM as part of their Center for Teaching Excellence. I also play piano at Covenant Presbyterian Church! I received my PhD in Fine Arts from Texas Tech in 2018, having studied there with Dr. William Westney, performing recitals, accompanying instrumentalists and vocalists, teaching group classes and private lessons, as well as serving as pianist at multiple churches.
