For beginning students who are just picking up the horn, we focus on the very basics on how to make noises on it. Once they understand how it make sounds, we slow work on refining and controlling so we can actually learn to play! Older and more experienced students will learn how to make Music, not just playing the notes on the page. A lot of time goes into understanding musicality, so we will often listen to recordings, play together to find different way to express musical ideas, and take time to really understand and comprehend different music genres. I am a native of Louisville, KY. I started playing piano when I was 5 years old. I started playing bass guitar at age 10, and I started playing guitar at age 20. I started performing in public at the age of 6. By the time I was in high school, I was gigging most weekends. I also started recording when I was in high school. My musical background includes rock, jazz, classical, heavy metal, Middle-Eastern pop music, Christian contemporary, as well as some Latin music. Read More

I opened my clarinet studio while in college. Over the next decade, my studio grew to over 40 students. It was a diverse studio with clarinetists of all levels and ages! I am excited to be teaching privately, and building my studio again, here in Florida! Lessons with me will be a good mix of work and fun. My teaching experience started in Graduate school, at Indiana University. I taught voice lessons to a violin major who was interested in taking voice lessons on the side. Since then, I've maintained a voice studio from my home and remotely, as I've traveled and moved around the country for singing work. I've been based in Tampa, FL now for close to seven years, and was teaching voice lessons via Face-time and Zoom from 2020-2021, and then also began in-person lessons from my home after Fall of 2021.
