He has received praise for his “delectable top notes” (DC Metro Theatre Arts) and a voice described as “powerful . . . conjuring up an extraordinarily delicate sweetness” (Communities Digital News). He received his Bachelor of Music from The Juilliard School and Master of Music with the University of Maryland-Opera Studio. My studio of aspiring musicians of all ages strives for the motto I came up with as an alternative to the popular, yet technically impossible and anxiety-inducing Practice Makes Perfect. I am a dedicated professional singer in the DC Metro area, and I operate Hannahs Music Studio as a way to share what I have learned through my many years of music studies and performances. I use traditional method for the students who like to pursue classical music and I teach modern music for those who are not so interested in classical music. Even though I use Suzuki method for violin, I emphasize sight reading and theory. For Suzuki students, I encourage them to memorize whole book and perform before move onto next level. I have been teaching in the NOVA area for a little over three years now. I started when I returned from out of state and have not looked back since. I have maintained a studio of about 10-15 students almost consistently after about a year of starting. My students have ranged widely in age, from elementary students to retired adults who have have wanted to learn an instrument. Therefore, its important that each student progresses at his or her own pace. I encourage this by setting realistic goals for my students at each lesson.
