I started playing violin at the age of 4, and started teaching at 17. In 2003, I started playing viola, and in 2005, I started learning cello. In 2010, I graduated from Stetson University with a Bachelor of Music degree with electives in Psychology. I am an opera singer who recently returned to the US from Germany and have a passion for teaching. I received my Doctor of Musical of Arts in voice from the University of Cincinnati College-Conservatory of Music in 2016. While at CCM I had the opportunity to teach the freshmen musical theatre majors, which I loved. I lived in Germany for 18 months where I coached with some of the greats of the opera world. Read More

My teaching experiences have come from my time spent playing in a variety of ensembles in the different colleges that I attended. I was often asked to lead groups in rehearsal and this was where my teaching experiences first began. It started with my colleges Big Band and then with a Saxophone Quartet. Being able to lead a group of musicians and helping them get better everyday was the most fulfilling feeling I got during my time in school and pushed me to try my hand at teaching younger students. I will use what I learned at the University of Arkansas in my teaching methods and approach the guitar in a classical sense, meaning properly learning chords, scales, arpeggios and so on. I will have books that the student will learn songs and techniques from depending on the direction they want to go musically.
