What makes me stand out from other piano instructors is that I use the Russian Piano-Schooling System approach. Playing piano is much more than just the action of fingers and hands. Teaching of the artistic image and musical intonation, not just mechanical repetition -- is what makes the Russian method so special and unique. My students are encouraged to deeply listen to the quality of the sound they produce, and to identify what needs to be done to improve it. Read More

I believe each of us learn differently; for some students I find that they are very hands on and prefer that I show them how to do something and then allow them to perfect it others I find that they need a little more guidance and need me to go at a slower pace but regardless of the student's learning language I take my time to understand where they are and outline a plan to help them exceed to the next level. Every student has a different learning style. It is my job as the instructor to figure out what that is. Typically, I learn where my students interests lie in order to better engage them. At the same time, I teach them the fundamentals of music, which play an equally important role in their education. Read More

I started to teach group music class and private lesson when I was in undergraduate. I always try to bring everything I learned from performance, music education, observing other music teacher and my own experience to every music lesson I gave. Practicing consistently is the most important way to make the lesson experience more pleasant and worthwhile. Other than introducing the music to my students, I also encourage them to perform, because sharing music is also part of the learning process. Read More

With beginning students, I like to use a combination of Alfreds Basic method books. I like the variety it gives students from fundamentals to performance tunes, sight reading and music theory. Students will progress from playing on black keys only, hands separately, to simple five key songs very quickly. We would also explore a few minutes in each lesson on games in music theory on iPad or with manipulatives so they will develop note reading skills. Read More

My philosophy is if it isn't fun; nobody wants to do it. My method of teaching provides simple psycology in making praticing fun. The piano needs to be praticed every day if the student wants to progress! For Children I teach pop and classical piano, where as adults I try to find out why they want to play and what style of music they would like to play. Many adults don't desire to be a concert pianist but, If you'd like to play for fun; maybe play at a party to entertain your guests and you would like to play popular music; there's a class specialized for that. My journey with music began at the age of five with some of the most inspirational teachers. At that time I never imagined that music would not only become my livelihood, but also that my passion for playing and teaching would grow so strong. I started studying music at Henryk Wieniawskis School of Music at age of 7 where I spent another 12 years learning piano, trumpet, vocal, music theory and related to music subjects. Read More
