My teaching experience dates back to my college days, as I began teaching private lessons part time 8 years ago, and have been consistently teaching students in Cincinnati for the last 2 years. Encouraging regular practice on a consistent schedule is one of the key points I like to emphasize for younger students, as it tends to help the student progress and gain a passion for the instrument. This is crucial for seeing any development at a decent pace in any student. What happens otherwise is that the student does not want to practice, or practicing without focus. I began taking lessons on the guitar at age 8 and continues with a few different instructors all throughout my life, and still do.  I started studying Classical Guitar my Sophomore year of High School. My teaching experience goes all the way back to 2003, when I was a percussion section leader in junior high school. I was a section leader throughout high school and on into my undergraduate degree in percussion. This involved both teaching groups of my peers but also giving individual attention to anyone who needed the extra help.
