I have been lucky enough to have been studying music since I was very little, and so it's now my drive and motivation to share all the lessons, insights, and wonders I've learned from studying a wide variety of instruments and types of music. I truly enjoy seeing my students learn to appreciate music and its many styles and uses. My teaching style, while keeping a focus on the fundamentals of piano, also encourages creativity and exploration of their own. All students have different learning styles and speeds, and some students may take longer to understand certain concepts. I have performed in all kinds of groups including jazz bands, wind ensembles, latin groups, and even choirs. I grew up in Cozad, Nebraska which is a small town, but I was influenced by so many kinds of music given this age of technology. Music is my passion. I believe that music is able to connect us in ways that words and actions simply cannot. I have been playing music in some form for over 20 years. I play trumpet and piano. In college, I was a lead trumpet player for the UNL Cornhusker Marching Band.
