My love for the instrument is as a teacher, and it is that love for teaching that brought me to be a classroom teacher of general music for ten years. As a more advanced percussionist, I took it upon myself to assist my fellow new recruits with learning the material outside of regular practice times with the Musical Director. With percussion, we found that taking a piece and breaking it into small sections that were easily repeatable gave the best results.
