I give the tools for the student to become a better player and to build confidence. If the student is participating in the schools music program I help them prepare for stage band performances or recitals. She studied Electronic Production & Design at Berklee College of Music as a full scholarship recipient. She designs sounds for UX/UI, motion picture and programs sound for live shows. Her singer-songwriter career has included an impressive number of accolades and experiences in the music industry, including Glamour’s "Woman of the Year” award, co-composing the official theme song of Armel Opera Festival, and playing the leading role of Kim in the musical Miss Saigon. For beginning students we usually start with sitting at 2 drum sets and learning to hold the sticks. It's then about trying to get the sticks to strike the drum and practice getting a nice sound on the instrument. Even at a young age, it's important to help the students to think about tone and how we are creating sound on these instruments. I use the same technique on the vibes, learning to hold 2 or 4 mallets and just creating simple sounds. Read More
