I have advanced marching band/drumline experience, playing each different drum for multiple performances. I have performed in parades and football games, and competitively in settings like the Lucas Oil Stadium and Ross-Ade Stadium. Additionally, I am adept in concert/orchestral performance, having participated in large and small ensembles at Ball State University. For younger students that are beginners I try to get a better understanding of their skillset by giving them and listening to to them play a simple etude. This will give me a better idea of what I think we should work on most like embouchure or breath control. For beginning students, i like to start with the Essential Elements method book. The pieces in this method book are good for beginners because they are short and simple. For more advanced students, I like to delve into the Suzuki method books and then into more advanced solo repertoire from there. However, each student is different, so each student's lesson may look different.
