Students who are in the beginning level , I teach read the music theory, time signatures, sharps, flats, natural sign, melodic and harmonic intervals, chords, chord progression and assign a song or two song for students to practice , this type of exercise are help his/ her fingers getting familiar on the piano/keyboard. Students who are in the intermediate level, bring a song that you need to work on, when I teach intermediate level piano , I usually pick up classical song to teach intermediate level piano students. With consistent practice and lessons I’ve had success with having some of my youngest students start with Mozarts twinkle little star and in 2-3 years play at a very high level with skill, artistry and reading abilities in Suzuki books 4/5 Vivaldi Concertos. Students start off with a box violin to focus on posture and ear training right away. Once some of the fine motor skills are established, we transfer these skills directly to the violin, and begin create sound on the instrument. Read More

I graduated from the University of Southern California twice, earning both my masters and bachelors degrees from the Thornton School of Music in vocal performance. I worked with students in North Carolina and Chicago, and have taught trombone and music theory I like to give listening assignments as well, as it has been shown that students develop better technique when the music they practice what they are listening to.
