Before moving to the United States I took classes from another teacher of the CPM in Milan, who helped me correct my mistakes. I think there's always something to learn or to correct. In the meantime I played and recorded some demos with different bands, an experience that certainly enriched me as a guitar player and gave me some personal satisfaction like being in a band recommended by a Heavy Metal magazine called Metal Shock. I had my first paying gig at 7 years old and have never looked back! Always striving to keep my repertoire relevant, I developed a great ear that allows me to learn many songs quickly. I always emphasize that in my teaching so that a student is not only playing, but actively listening too. My teaching method is very open and is tailored for each individual student. With some I do any combination of technique, theory, composition, and improvisation. Read More
Instruments: Violin Viola
I have contributed to the editing and creation of music for short films in the City of Colima, Col. Mexico, using improvised and contemporary styles. In the United States, I have performed as a member of the Camellia Symphony Orchestra in Sacramento, CA for two seasons and the Merced Symphony. I have served as a music instructor of violin, viola and piano lessons in the area of Sacramento, CA. In April 2018 I was selected to perform with Bay area based Delphi trio. Read More

For beginning students I usually start with Hal Leonard's beginning guitar. But if they want to just play music, I will als teach them how to read tabs and chord charts. This enables the student to start playing songs right away. As the student progresses I will give them solo music pieces as well, songs and exudes to use for performance. Eventually, the student will progress to scales, soloing, and comping. Read More

I have performed roles in Postcard from Morocco and Orpheus in the Underworld with the SJSU Opera Theater. My solo works include the Fauré and Brahms Requiem, both with San Jose Staté University. In the summer of 2015, I appeared with the Symphony Silicon Valley in R.V. William’s Serenade to Music and in 2016 I performed Haydn’s Lord Nelson Mass with the Ireland Limerick Sinfonia. Most recently I joined Peninsula Cantare as a soloist in the Carmina Burana and Mozart Vespers. Read More
Instruments: Drums
I have taught a number of students over the years. Some are beginners, while some are more advanced players. I currently teach in a studio carved out of my garage, using a top level electronic drum set to help keep the volume down. I began accepting students as far back as 1984, and have a regular student at the present time. I have worked with him on basic technique, the rudiments, working with and without a metronome. For beginners, I typically focus on teaching straightforward open chords, along with scales and exercises to improve finger dexterity. Following that, I guide them in incorporating melodies or soloing over chords. We delve into strumming patterns and cover fundamental techniques for warming up. With intermediate players, my approach involves introducing chord inversions and delving into basic music theory. Topics include understanding how to stay in a key and identifying the diatonic chords within it. Read More

What musical accomplishments are you most proud of?
After you release a work of music, you're not in control of how people react to it. The works that go unnoticed by the majority of my viewers can sometimes be the ones that I'm most proud of, even if to the outside opinion it seems as if they are "unsuccessful". Throughout someone's career in any particular field, there will always be ups and downs. It's important to always keep yourself grounded and true to yourself because it can be easy to lose sight early on when success doesn't come your way at first.
What does a normal practice session look like for you?
Varies depending on student. For beginners, I like to
What is your dream piece to perform and why?
New Divide by Linkin Park. I've never seen any vocalist perform that song with as much power as Chester Bennington had.
If you weren't a musician what do you think you'd be doing instead?
If I were not a muscian, I would probably look towards a career in business and finance. My father has had success in this industry, so I have the advantage of learning from someone with qualified experience. The knowledge I have already gained as a musician can even be beneficial towards long term career goals such as those.
I feel fortunate enough that my skills and accomplishments as a musician have already led me to a point where I can see the bigger picture of life, but I think it's important to develop a career in an industry in which you already understand the requirements for success.
What is your favorite style/genre of music to play and why?
My musical roots are based in rock, blues, and jazz, but as a musician, I try not to trap myself in the shortcomings and limitations that genres inherently provide. While studying the engineering side of music in school, I developed the respect and admiration for the production of electronic and pop music, these genres of music are as influential if not more influential today than "classic rock" and in terms of physical performance, they require little to no expertise in that field in order to create music on the same level of quality that the professionals do. With the combination of all these different influences, my sensibility as a musician I feel is not only modern, but diverse as well, so it is difficult to name a favorite genre.
If you play more than one instrument, how did you decide to start playing the second? (Or 3rd, 4th, 5th, etc)!
My introduction into the world of music was from the natural inclination to write music, so playing piano, guitar, bass, and eventually music production all came to
Does music run in your family? Tell us a little about your musical family members.
I'm the only musician in my family that I know of.
When did you decide to become a professional musician? Was it a gradual decision or was there a defining moment for you?
When I realized someone would pay me for the thing I was already doing for fun.
