I love sharing the joys of music with others! I graduate from Marywood University in January 2017 with a Bachelors degree in Music Therapy. I took private vocal lessons starting when I was 14 years old. I was a part for my colleges chamber choir and I went on tour with them and performed throughout the US and Canada. I studied abroad in London for a semester and was a part of the Kings College choir as well. Read More

My teaching experience is rather diverse. I started teaching private lessons thirty years ago and I always loved sharing what I knew with others. I've never stopped teaching private lessons, but I've also taught group lessons and music classes in private schools, I've taught adult classes and I've taught college classes at two schools in New Jersey. I like to combine fundamentals of music with showing students what I'm currently up to with the main goal of getting the student to be able to play what he or she wants to as soon as possible. Ive been teaching private lessons for about 5 years at this point and I have really seen how my method for teaching as been rewarding for my students. My students range from multitudes of different musical backgrounds so what I like to do is work on their basic musical foundation by teaching them theory and ear training to be able to understand how music works and how this knowledge applies to their musical development. I was born into a family full of musicians and I was thought how important and helpful it is to learn an instrument for anyone not only professionals. At 12 years old I started performing and at 14 I started teaching thanks to my dad (drum instructor) who introduced me to the amazing experiences of sharing knowledge about music. Since then I haven't stoped teaching and searching for information to share with anyone interested. Read More

I'm very nice and patient with students, but I'm also very sink-or-swim. For example, if a student is trying to play a melody they know, I won't simply write it out for them and have them recite it: I'll push them to figure it out themselves and develop their ear. I'll of course step in at any significant roadblocks but people tend to make a lot of progress when they're pushed to do it themselves. Read More

I began teaching Drums at a local Music Store on Saturday mornings while still in College. Teaching helped propel my interest in Drums and Music as I continued my education at College. Most students studied with me for years at at time. I began picking up more and more students at the store until I had a full schedule 3 days a week. My love and dedication to music made teaching and explaining music to others, simple ....and fun. Read More

Once the student has progressed to an intermediate level, I like to start introducing more advanced music theory and musical references to enable the student to start finding their own unique style. For advanced students, our focus is on perfecting playing technique and style, as well as continuing to expand our knowledge of music as an art form and an industry, and I speak with my students about the ways that they can use their talent beyond home, school, and the local gig venue.
