For my beginner students, who are younger, I start off with the Faber series in the Primer levels. After progressing through the first few levels of the series, I then start to introduce solo repertoire depending on the interests of the student. For my older students, we also go through the Faber Adult Piano Adventures book, where we learn the basics of piano along with some fun pieces. I then studied music theory so I could write better music. It cleared up the missing links from my "self taught" days and set the pace for me as a musician. I joined a local cover band, soon formed it into an original project, and through the transformation realized I was writing the music, and teaching my bandmates theory that in turn, made us a great jam band and gave me the freedom to always know where I am on the fretboard. I started playing trumpet in middle school around the age of 11, and I've been playing trumpet for about 11 years. I played for 3 years in my high school's marching band, winning state championship's one year, and 3rd the other years. I've played in jazz bands, concert bands, and I've participated in MPA.
