I am goofy kind of gal who is a kid at heart so, while I do not allow the students to goof-off during practice, I definitely encourage the children to have fun and take breaks. Learning a new skill is taxing on the brain so I do enjoy inserting some brain-breaks here and there, when necessary. I'm also a very big sticker advocate! Both age groups gave me the chance to find ways to help different levels of playing and what to focus on with different levels of playing and understanding of the horn. My role is to make this journey as smooth and efficient as possible by providing the appropriate materials and guidance. Andrew was voted the 2004 Pioneer Marching Percussion Member of the Year by the educational and administrative staff. He has taught and had original compositions and arrangements played by high school drum lines in Illinois, Alabama, and Nevada; including collegiate ensemles such as the UNLV Star of Nevada Drum Line, the UWA Catalyst Drum Line, and the Troy University Sound of the South Drum Line. Andrew was most recently a Percussion Instructor for the Pioneer Drum and Bugle Corps from Milwaukee, Wisconsin where he primarily instructed the Tenor Line, but also ran many rehearsals and worked with all the percussive sections.
