Once I was accepted into the UCF program under David Bjella, a busy schedule and the other cellists having more experience than me saw a sharp decline in my cello tutelage. It was supplanted however by the wide variety of classes and music education electives available to all the music majors, which I quickly signed up for to further my teaching abilities. I love working with students of all ages and skill levels, and one of my biggest rewards as a teacher is seeing students improve and love music more and more each week. I work with students to develop their own unique goals for their lessons. Some students are putting together a full recital or prepping for auditions. Since I used to be a middle school band director, I am extremely familiar with the teaching beginners. I customize all lessons to each student's goals. After students have passed through the fundamentals, we will work out of the Rubank intermediate or advanced books for technique development.
