I typically like to create practice sheets, so that progress can be tracked over time. Assessments will be based on effort, and minor improvements over a long period of time, as music takes a lot of patience and time to really improve! My teaching experience dates back approximately five years, and I've taught to students as young as 8 to as old as 20. With all of my students, I tailor my lesson plans to their specific needs. I like to find out why my students want to play guitar, what they want to play, and foster their continuing growth by teaching them what they want to learn. For beginning trombonists I like to start with the standard Hal Leonard Essential Elements book, which teaches all of the fundamentals of great trombone playing. As the student progresses I add in various etude books that teach technical ability, musicality, and facility on the instrument. I also assign a solo or two for the student to work on which applies all of the fundamentals listed before into a tangible piece of performed music. Read More

There are a lot of things to cover, but I will adapt what I think is the best teaching style for the student based on things like what he or she wants to learn. I'm a passionate soprano currently studying at The College of Musical Arts at Bowling Green State University. I graduated with my bachelors degree from Aurora University in May of 2015, and I just completed the first year of my masters degree.
