I was a percussion major in college then spent a few years in Austin Texas traveling with country, rock and blues bands. Have played on over 20 records. If the student is a beginner I will teach them proper technique, how to develop good habits at home, and I will also inform the parent to watch out for these aspects when they are practicing at home! We will be working on short excerpts from essential elements book, and then we will progress to Suzuki repertoire. Though I have plenty of experience as a pianist I'm relatively new to the field of teaching. I have have several piano teachers throughout my life whose methodology I can draw from as experience. My experience with the various teachers I've had in my life has taught me one important lesson. Always pace yourself and never get too big for your boots.
